“A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.” Coco

Playing dress up might just be one of my very favorite things ever.

In honor of all things fashion, (and all the clothes my baby bump no longer fits in), I thought I'd share some of my favorite fashion-ish quotes.

"Maybe the best any of us can do is not quit, play the hand we’ve been dealt, and accessorize the outfit we’ve got."

Zest is the secret of all beauty. There is no beauty that is attractive without zest.
-Christian Dior

Style is primarily a matter of instinct.
-Bill Blass

Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.
-Coco Chanel

Happy Monday fashion lovers!

work it.

Here we go again! It's Fashion Week at Windy Poplars and I'll be participating a little this week! I don't have as much gusto (nor as many cute clothes that still fit) this time around but I'm gonna give it the old college try!

Today's theme... What you wear to work...

(Why yes, I do have the flattest granny butt in all the land. Seriously considering implants...)

Mine is easy and a little sad! But hey, it's the truth and also gave me a chance to capture my 20 week baby bump! That's right people, we're halfway there!!! If you don't already know, I work from home, caring for lil kiddos from 7:30am-6:00pm. You can understand why I don't sport my finest attire during working hours!

Also, we got home yesterday from a whirlwind weekend of theatre and visiting family. My sister starred in Steele Magnolias in Georgia this past Fri-Sun and we were able to catch the Saturday night show. Congratulations Jasmine! You were wonderful and I cant wait to see where your talents take you!

(Isn't she just stunning? And this is w/o a stitch of make-up!)

Have fun joining fashion week this time! More details here!

Fall Fashion Week Finale!!!

Fashion Week has been so much fun and I am excited to see who wins the gift card... (fingers crossed!)
I have learned a lot about my style this week and what I like and don't like so much. And I realized once again that almost every one of my favorite pieces is thrifted. That kinda really makes me happy.

So here's the final rundown...

Blue Sweater: Goodwill
Yellow Button Up w/Brown Polka dots: Plato's Closet
Plaid Skirt: Goodwill
Shoes: Walmart clearance

Thank you everyone for joining me on this fun and fashionable week!
I'm excited to get back to my regularly scheduled swooning over the men in my life. Sigh, I love those guys.

Happy Halloween!

saturday's fashion fave.

Getting my model on with KimBE photography in one of my very favorite outfits!

I wore it again on my birthday because I love it so.

Bow: Forever 21
Pearls (pictured above): Forever 21
Top: Plato's Closet
Skirt: Goodwill

I LOVE that the bow was the most expensive part of this outfit!

Later today...

Lunch to celebrate my Grandmother's birthday.

some days the goodwill gods smile upon me.

In case you couldn't tell Fashion Week has been tons of fun for me! I LOVE clothing and fashion and dressing up and feeling pretty! Especially when said clothing is so cheap it's practically free.
This dress cost me $3. Yup that's right. I heart Goodwill. We're besties for real.

Man my hubby's a cutie pie!
(From a photo shoot w/the amazing Lindsey Lou... I forgot the belt that goes w/the dress that day...)

And here's my official Fashion Week picture taken Sunday...the same day I took them all.
(What!?! I watch 5 kids all day! I am NOT walking around in heels!!!)

So here's my fashion dilemma... I am pretty confident with my style when it comes to getting "dressed up" but  when we're talking about day to day clothing I got nothing, Like seriously nothing. HELP!!! What do I need to be wearing other than yoga pants and tiny tee shirts???

Also, date night with the hubby last night... HUGE SUCCESS!!! Siam Sushi you are delish (don't worry grand mamas I had the curry not the raw fish)! That sushi was calling my name something fierce though.
Thanks again A for coming thru at the last minute on the babysitting!

Tonight: Miles' big night! My baby the dinosaur, accompanied by his two cave people parents,  takes on Trunk-or-Treating...I'm excited to see what he thinks about it this year!

Thank Goodwill it's Friday!

the perfect vintage dress.

I found this dress at Plato's Closet a couple years ago and basically have to restrain myself from wearing it to everything...church every sunday, every date night, every family picture...you get the idea. I LOVE IT!!! I could tell it wasn't your run-of-the-mill  college kid dregs I usually find at the Closet because of how delicate it felt and how they had it hanging in the back where no one cares to look. Poor old thing. It was just waiting there for me I know it.

This photo was taken by a great local photographer a few months ago.

And here's me rocking it 17 weeks prego! Very adaptable to my expanding figure, love that!

I only got to take a peek at a couple other fashion weekers yesterday and missed out on making my comment rounds but I'm so excited to see what today brings!

day 3. more of me.

So I have kinda decided I hate taking self timer pics. I always set the camera wrong and end up looking short and stumpy. (Wait, that is the cameras fault riiiiiight???) But for real!!! Even with my sexy mama boots on I feel like I still look about 2 feet tall here. Whatevs it'll be okay.

So here's the breakdown...

Vest: RAVE (Yeah, I went there. What!?! They have good prices okay???)
Striped Button Up: Goodwill
Skinny Jeans: On loan from bestie. (Thank you S!)
Boots: Plato's Closet

I think I would add some chunky bracelets and a hair accessory if I hadn't been racing the clock on this one.

get yo fash on...

Anyone that knows me is aware of my ridiculously all consuming obsession with hair accessories. I almost don't feel an outfit is complete without one. Almost. This baby is one of my all time favorites and even better...it's home made! Thank you sister of mine for hookin' me up with this beauty!

(Photos via)

So whenever I wear this hat Hubby calls me Mrs. Peacock. Whatevs, he knows I rock the peacock! Ha! I love CLUE. These pics were taken a few months ago but the outfit remains a staple around here.

Hat: Made by my sister
Bow (In second pic): Forever 21
Pearls: Forever 21
Striped Shirt: Goodwill
Red Skirt: Goodwill

So aside from FASHION WEEK being awesome I am so overwhelmed and in love with all the comments and compliments...ahhh I loooove me some compliments... It has been really fun to see what everyone else is wearing these days. I have gotten some really cute ideas and there are even a few other prego ladies in the mix so we're helping each other out with the non-frumped out fatty clothing ideas.

It has been soooo nice to meet you girls and have a glimpse into your lives and fashion via blog land! I heart meeting new people!

Mkay, in other news... we took baby boy to the pumpkin patch last night and it was like the best thing that's ever happened to him. As soon as we pulled into the patch he started shouting "Punkin!" Punkin! I want touch! I want touch!"

So. Stinking. Cute.
When he tried to pick this one up he said "Ooh heaby." It was pretty heavy.

Alas, our camera was on the fritz so I only got the old phone pics but they will have to do. I love family time and it really made for the perfect FHE. We even ran into some fellow church peeps in the patch so that was fun!

Tonight: Church meetings and a stop at Joanne's to grab supplies for hubby's sexy caveman costume! Bet ya can't wait to see our Halloween photos. Me neither.

standing on the roof top everybody scream your heart out.

It's Fall Fashion Week over at the most adorable blog I stumbled upon and I am ALL in it to win it! That is... a $50 gift card to Forever 21!!! Did you know they have a maternity line now? Yep, that happened.

Let's start things off with one of my most recent prego faves! Loose tops and drawstring skirt, oh yes feel the love. Please be forgiving with me as I am ya know 17 weeks pregnant now! Waahooo!!!

Sweater: Goodwill
Pink Ruffle Top: Ross
Gray Belt: Goodwill
Skirt: Goodwill
Boots: Hijacked from my mama years ago
Tiny Baby Boy Head: Home made by me

Normally I would also rock my cascading strands of pearls with this ensemble but they suffered an unfortunate accident on a recent wild ladies night out. Maybe I'll use my Forever 21 gift card to replace em! Ha!

C'mon ladies, join this party! The more days you post your outfits, the more entries you have in the drawing!

Exciting things are afoot around here...Tonight, the pumpkin patch! We need the perfect Jack-o-lantern to adorn our doorstep this year as Miles is hopelessly in love with this holiday already! Yay!

Have a great Monday!

8/16/10

warning: this ain't gonna be pretty!

So far lookin' foxy has been harder than I anticipated. Turns out I don't really have many casual clothes that I would consider foxy... So, here's what I wore last week.

Monday:  Workin' the hand-me-down shirt and "jorts." (jean shorts) Drew HATES my jorts.

Tuesday: I wore this exact outfit when I was 9 months prego with this lil guy. Time for a wardrobe update!

Wednesday: This one's ok but no effort or thought was required.

Thursday: Yep, those are stretch pants. So not hot. Plus, no make-up.

Friday: Note to self...these jeans do not make you look as thin as you think.

Saturday: still in Friday's hair..bleh

I will say that I actually did look pretty cute on Sunday but alas it is not pictured. I DEFINITELY need to up my game around here!
