boy oh boy.

Today has been... a bit on the nightmarish side. Miles seems to be testing me every time I turn around and Oliver just needs me all to himself. Which, of course, he can't have.
Days like today require a lot of deep breathing and counting.
And I am so very, very tired. I miss my 10 o'colck bedtime. Stupid classes I have to stay up late and study for. I suppose I just need to resign myself to the fact that I may not get a decent nights sleep again for a long time. My mama says she hasn't slept well since she had kids. That was 30 years ago.

I'm not sure I'm cut out for that.

The kiddos I babysit went down for their naps easily and are sleeping like angels while Miles is screaming and banging things around his room. Basically this post is keeping me from going in there and spanking his cute little ferrel butt. (Which I have found has absolutely no effect on him anyway btw).

On a happier note, it feels like spring outside today and I really love that. Sometimes living in Florida is just plain awesome.

Also, Hubby surprised me with some fantastic hair product that I am quickly falling in love with. If it keeps up the good work I will absolutely pass on the good word to all of you. So far I am impressed.

Let's see what else... Oh yes, I have decided that I will definitely be home schooling my boys. Lately the prompting that it is right for our family just keeps coming back stronger and stronger.

Lord help me.

Some of my very favorite women have/are homeschooled/ing so I hope to look to them as examples and for advice and support. I'm excited about it but of course trepidation goes hand in hand there.

I suppose that's enough rambling for one day. Bachelor tonight baby! Ben oh Ben oh Ben. What am I going to do with you???

M

Sorry for the typos, blogger doesn't seem to want to spell check for me and let's face it, I don't have time for all that.

Of course when I put brin to bed, the yard maintenance people start working and she is STILL making noises in her room. Bad timing!!

Marquesas, glad to see you are blogging again! Your post couldn't have come at a better time, I just spanked my almost 4 year old (2nd time ever) for basically being nasty and then the catalyst was hitting her little sister (kettle calling the pot black- i know!) and was totally judging/hating myself for it. So, hearing that you have done that on occasion, in a weird way made me feel better. Sounds twisted when I write it, but I think you would understand. I consider you a very good mom so to know I am not alone as the only mom to ever spank her child was a nice sigh of relief. Your honesty is appreciated! Keep on blogging! :)

I'm blessed that CJ rarely needs a spanking. She rarely needs time out for that matter. She just listens to me. But I don't hesitate to fwap her when she needs it. Spanking isn't hitting in anger (I guess it COULD be, but all of us here are loving mommies) If you spank your kid for hitting another kid, you aren't teaching them to hit, I promise. (At least in my opinion. And my opinion is pretty important. Riiiight.)

Good luck with the home schooling- you're my hero for doing that! Of course, any mom who stays home with their kid(s) is a hero to me considering I can't stand to do it for more than the weekend.

When Ed gets back up here after his training is over, I'm going to make him get the pool back together, then all the kiddos are welcome to come over and wear themselves out playing. Sounds like a plan, yes? XOXO
