So, today I abandoned my morals to go on a fishing trip with my dad. As most of yall know I am seriously anti-animal cruelty but fishing is pretty much the only way to get in good quality time with my dad so I consider it a necessary evil! lol We had a really great time. We went down to St. Marks and put the tiny aluminum boat in around 10am. The water was a little choppy and it was pretty windy but once we got out past the channel things started to calm some.
Daddy threw in his bait (which was a live fish btw) bleh, and pretty much immediately he had caught a massive mullet! He is a really great fisherman. It reminded me of the summer when me and Jazz were kids and he was laid off from work and we had to live on whatever we went out and caught everyday... (good times). Anyway, sadly (and happily) that was our only catch of the day. I caught a couple "bait" fish who then got hooked thru the eyeball and thrown back into the gulf. Those little guys mostly got half eaten by sharks (little sharks don't be scared).
All in all it was a pretty good day, we had some laughs and got a little sun. My dad really is a great guy, he's just a little rough around the edges!
Oh! I almost forgot, after we fished we went back to his house and he showed me his latest "invention". He is always finding junk on the side of the road and turning it into something cool, well, at least something interesting... so today he took me into the "tornado shelter" he made. (not exactly found on the road side but still pretty inventive!) Basically it's a deep deep hole with stairs going down inside. He has a cooler full of food in there and everything! Maybe some of our talk about food storage and emergency preparedness has rubbed off on him a little.
Anyway, enjoy these pics of our adventurous day out! The first two are of the tornado shelter and me inside the tornado shelter! My dad is so crazy awesome!

Marquesas! How fun!! I don't know if you remember me. It's Sister Urry, and I served in the Tally 5th Ward in 2003. Long time ago, but lots of great memories! It is fun to learn more about what you've been up to. You look beautiful, as always. If you want to check out what I'm up to, I have a blog. http://mmandmash.blogspot.com
How fun to find you!
The beard pic was taken in Florida. I wish we had a boat for fishing. Well we do just no way to get it to the water.
I would love to say that looks like fun, but Ewww!! Fishing creeps me out. :) At least you got to spend some quality time with your dad. Jason really wants a little boat so he can take the kids fishing. And the kids really wish we had a little boat so he could take them fishing, but I am perfectly fine with no boat.
P.S. We still want to come see your house sometime in the near future.
