and I'm out.

(Who wouldn't want to snuggle this guy all night?)

So last night I decided it was time for the meester to sleep in his own bed once and for all. So around 7 I got him all filled up right nice with booby juice and he was asleep in my arms when Drew and I went to lay him in his crib. Well, just as soon as I took my hands off him he woke up and he was NOT happy. We told him we loved him and goodnight.

2 hours later...

He finally stopped making those last struggling sounds a completely worn out child makes and I went into check on him. Now it was my turn to cry. He had fallen asleep sitting up facing the door with his head against the bumper/bars of the crib. It was heart breaking. He had cried at that door calling for us, sitting up until his little body was just too tired to cry anymore. ( When I showed Drew he grabbed him up outta there b/f either of us could think twice, otherwise I would have taken a picture to share the sad sad scene.)

Let's just say, I'm officially done with the crying it out method. Which probably also means I am done getting a good nights sleep... ever... pray for us all...

In other exciting news... I'm a red-head now!

Yes, my hair mid-life crisis has reached a stalling point as I am happy with the new change...

my love,

M

You know, maybe he just isn't ready. I felt that way with both of my girls. I hate the cry it out method. I tried with Paiton when she was like 6 or 7 months old and she would cry and cry for like an hour and she would just stand up in the crib and wouldn't give it up. But recently we tried it again and she only cries for like 4 or 5 minutes now and then goes right to sleep. Before that she was in are bed all night long. Now she just comes in around 6 for her morning feeding and I loved cuddling with her till about 8, all night was nice, but you just don't sleep quite as well. Now I get the best of both worlds. Sorry this comment is so dang long. Good luck. By the way your hair looks great.

Girl, I feel your pain! Kiley would not take well to cry it out, so she always ends up in our bed, mostly because I am just too tired to keep putting her back to sleep in her crib. When she cries, she gets hysterical, and I just can't handle it! After being away from her all day, the last thing I want to do is hear her cry for hours. I would much rather snuggle with her!

Love the red!

Sorry about the sleep situation! I had to rock Levi to sleep for the first 16 months of his little life, but once he was down, he was mostly down for the night. But with JM, since I had another little one to keep up with, he didn't get rocked. He was just swaddled and laid dwon from day one (okay, maybe like day 10) and I guess since that's all he really knew, he's always been able to put himself to sleep. The downside: he hates to snuggle. Like, seriously cries when I try to rock him at all. I think I preferred having to rock Levi for 30 minutes or an hour to not getting that cuddle time at all w/ JM. :o(

What if you put the crib in your room? That way he knew you were there but was still out of the bed so you could sleep?

OH my!!! I am so sorry! Night time is still a bit of a nightmare for us! (well, bedtime!) I wish we would have done the "cry it out" method when he was one and a half or so. Good luck! You will find something that works for you!
