So, Mr. Blimes and I totally rocked it as Mary and Joseph...

When my sister and I were small my mother started a Christmas tradition in our neighborhood. Every year all us kids would put on a play of the Nativity for our parents. She would spend a couple weeks before Christmas teaching us lines, making a small set, gathering sheets (for our costumes) and getting ready to turn our living room into a mini theatre. It was so much fun!!!

Except, I was ALWAYS a shepherd, my sister ALWAYS got to be the angel and my friend Lindsay was ALWAYS Mary. Granted, the two of them actually spoke up about what parts they wanted... I was shy, blond and awkward (definitely not fit for the part of the mother of Christ... and no where near graceful enough to be an angel... even for a silly living room play.)

But that all changed this year baby!!! Mr. Blimes was on our church's Christmas activity committee and since I'm all big and preggers and my hair happens to be brown this year they asked ME to be MARY!!! ME!!!! Talk about childhood dreams come true!!! And even better, I had my very own hubster to play Joseph!!!

We had so much fun with the parts and the costumes were fabulous!!! In your FACE Lindsay and Jasmine!!!

Anyway, I only got one pic and I was dumb and didn't have anyone record the song Mr. Blimes and I sang (Mary's Lullaby, with two part harmony and everything!!!) So, sorry if you missed my triumphant return to the Nativity stage... maybe next year...

ps

Here are a few pics of the nursery... Still a work in progress (as is my entire home.) We're planning on decorating above his crib with his name in some eclectic wooden letters... The problem there being the poor child still has no name... hmmmm

Poor Mama Blimes is making baby's stocking and she's having to cut out three different names in felt so I can stick em on the boys stocking after we decide... guess that narrows it down some...

Miles Carter (still the front runner)
Carter Owen (I'm pretty sure this ones out)
Bennett Shia (Drew hates this one)

lately I've been rather fond of Milo instead of Miles (maybe I better call Mama Blimes)

and what a glowing Mary you made! Your song was absolutely beautiful, too. :) I feel ya on the nativity thing. We always did one growing up on my cul-de-sac, but the middle house always staged it and their daughter always got to be Mary! Good for you and your Mary moment! PS: I love the name Miles Carter!

Ok, I just have to point out that Miles has the exact same letters as Blimes minus the B. Did you choose it on purpose or is that just a coincidence?
